Friends NOT looking for a full commitment here BUT please post only if you are seriously considering the RS-4 Forum V.

Some members may want to remain anonymous in both  purchase and voting.

Should anyone wish to remain anonymous please PM me and I will share it only with the other Mods to keep things above board. Otherwise your post here will count as your vote for what you decide. I will tally the PM votes and disclose them here in total. Fair :?

I will try to use this topic as a full disclosure voting thus if you have an item question such as which Bigsby we talkin about etc please do so either by PM or open another topic. Also use This Discussion as a Reference

So, what did the final specs turn out to be?
Still not finalized, awaiting input from 8 very serious members. Only have 7 to date

OK, I'm definitely in on this.

Here's my preferences but will be in either way.

JCL on Headstock
V Block Inlays
Varnish Body, Satin Neck
Callaham Bridge.

Not a vote item but I was thinking P90 Bridge and Mini Hum neck. I don't have any experience with mini's so any advise would be appreciated. Or I was thinking P90's all around since my current RS-4 has the full Humbuckers already.

So count me in on the PM. Thanks.

Randy

here's my vote for the posted specs

Headstock-Vine or JCL
Fretboard inlays-stock V block
Body-varnish(natural or synthetic??,French polish?)--- or polyurethane---, Neck-Satin

Not the best pics, but here's a couple of my Rootbeer Burst. If you check out the Larrivee  mandolins on their website, it's supposedly the same finish.

Nice guitar, Mikeymac.  However, it is my understanding that the Forum V will be a much lighter burst = "iced tea burst" as mentioned earlier in this thread.  I am counting on that lighter burst as still being the color.  My agreement to participate is based on it being that color.

Yes, Andrew confirmed in another thread (below) that the color will be an "iced tea burst".

You are correct, sir!

A comment by Matthew Larrivee in another thread about mini-humbuckers and the Forum V RS-4:

"I am indeed making mini humbuckers - I've been working on the parts for almost a year. I just got the first baseplates back from the stamper in wisconsin; they are absolutely perfect. I have also already had an injection mold made for the bobbins. They turned out perfect as well. The pole screws were finished a week ago, but I dont have them in my hand yet - another week or two there. Now I'm working on the cover - It's a expensive proposition costing approximately $10,000 in tooling, and should take about 10 weeks. I wont release them on any other guitar though until the first ones have shipped on the forum electrics."

Mikeymac,
Had just read the thread you linked to before I saw it posted here.

Anyways, I'm having the hardest time deciding what pickup configuration to order for my Forum V and this just adds to the information I need to go through in my mind to make the best decision.  I still don't know what to choose at this point.

I am with you here.  I still just don't know what will be best.  My inclination is still towards mini in neck and full at bridge, but it seems like the 'proper' way to do it would be to go all the way one or the other.  Fact of the matter is that I just don't know enough about this stuff.
