The internet made it easy to get the music out there.  Whether anyone listens or not is purely by chance most of the time but I've been pretty lucky so far.  It's what I've always wanted to do and I'm doing it.  YAY!!!

BTW, all the recordings were made with Larrivee guitars.  All of them.

Pretty sure I'm missing a few sites.  Spotify for one.

Wow, Denis.  So much for internet anonymity ruling the day.  I'm glad that your talent is being heard.  How many of those sites did you set up and how many found you, as it were?

I set up most of them myself.  CD Baby set me up Amazon, iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Zune, all of the download sites.  The music is also with a few online music libraries, available for licensing.  Still lots more work to be done.

Just curious, do you make contact with other self-supporting musicians like Larry Pattis and others whom we see in Forum world just to pick their brains about how to make it?  Seems there may be a fair amount of touring (house concerts and other small venues) involved as well as cds.

I didn't ask anyone really, but I notice a lot of them have a Soundclick page and a Reverbnation page and a Facebook page...etc.  If you're not spreading yourself around at all, you might not reach anyone.  Have to try and be everywhere, all the time.

My schedule doesn't allow for much in the way of touring or the usual musician type things.  I've been very lazy even getting gigs locally.  Another problem is that many of the old traditional live music venues in my neck of the woods are going DJ or just stop doing live music altogether.  I've barely even touched a guitar all summer.  Looking forward to the fall and getting back into the old routine.  Kids will be in school so that will make it easier.

I'm thinking of doing a live webcast of me playing in the near future.  I'm not really sure how to do it but using my pages to advertise, I'm sure I could round up a few people on a Sunday afternoon to sit at their computers and watch/listen for a while?  If anyone has any experience with webcasting, I would appreciate any insight into the ins and outs of how it's done.

Ooh, I hope you get that one figured out.  I think you'd get a big audience for it.

Your Soundclick page has you holding a Takamine.   :cop:

(BTW I really like your music Denis.  :thumb)

It's cropped from some pro shots I had done a while back.  It's actually my friend Alana's guitar.

Thanks for listening SMan.
