Saw an episode of Austin City Limits last night that was the best I have ever seen.  Sitting on the same stage, taking turns strumming their guitars and singing their songs were Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt, Joe Ely and Guy Clark.  It was something to behold.

I'd just like to be able to GET ACL again. My local PBS station doesn't carry it. I would definitely be a fan (again).

Saw that ACL show, that is a good show they put on.  My wife and I saw them live in Boston a few years back.  They played at the Orpheum Theatre, which if you don't where it is, can be pretty hard to find.  Anyway, it was on a Friday night, so we went in early to have dinner.  Walking toward the venue a tall grey haired guy carrying a guitar case in one hand, and a briefcase in the other, came walking toward us.  It turned out to be a very lost Guy Clark, who had no idea where the Orpheum was.  He walked by us, and I said to my wife, "he's gotta be lost," so I chased after him, caught up with him, and told him he was going the wrong way.  So, he walked with my wife and I for 10 minutes to the venue.  I asked him what he was going to play, and he said "haven't a clue," with a smile.  Very nice guy, real down to earth to talk to, and with both my wife and I being big Guy Clark fans, it was quite a thrill.

Great show, too.   Could have listened to those guys play all night.

I saw it a few weeks ago and agree it was special, a perfect jam session.
