I've been a long time fan of Anthony Phillips from the early 80's. Never heard of him? He was the founding member, lead guitarist and primary composer for Genesis in it's early years. I recently learned that his 6 string of choice is Larrivee which he plays on this song-  Give a listen, tell me what you think.

Having played Larrivées almost exclusively since 1976, I have to say me, myself and I. Never heard of these other people you mention.

Don't forget to vote early and often for my 1975 L for GoTM!!!!

Thanks Nort and unclrob.

Well, some of you, mostly in Western Canada, might be hearing my music more often, if you watch tv that is.  Keep an eye, ear, out for an ad with Rambling Rumble playing in it.  I was told it might be playing already.  I haven't seen it yet myself but I'm in the East where this particular brand hasn't broken into the market as big.

Hey Blue,

How come this guy isn't listed under Artist heading at the Larrivee site?    I watched a few of his youtube entries, he's very good.   He's got a unique finger-picking technique and does his own compositions; very expressive with a lot of feeling.

You know what, I have no idea why he is not listed...he very well should be. I've seen him almost 100% of the time with Larrivees, he does play a Gibson from time to time. Yes, he is a very good player and writer..one of my favorites.

This reminds me of how Craig D'andrea wasn't listed as a Beneteau user under Beneteau's site for the longest time but they finally put him up there.

I really want to start a custom 12 fret build with Beneteau guitars....

Jimmy gets his guitars from a shop in Sweden. As a performing artist he doesn't stress alot over makes ,models, shapes and wood like we do....His shop gets him a new Larri every couple of years and he doesn't deal directly with Larrivee headquarters. Interesting story when he toured Canada with Don Ross last winter he flew from Toronto to Calgary on Air Canada. This was the middle of winter up here and both his guitars came out of the Cargo hold unplayable  crying . Nothing a trip to a luthier in Calgary couldn't fix but no doubt some stressful hours . Hopefully he will be added to the artists list soon.
