I have Kincaid's book as well. Some of his builds look like they came out of the Larrivee custom shop.

I think I'm gonna get me that Kincaid book...

Without further ado, this morning I strung it up:

For four hours I played it and swear I could hear its tone bloom from tight and tinny to something a bit more bassy but more balanced than a dread. Then I noticed that one of the bridge wings was coming up so I exercised caution and removed the strings. I used hide glue so it shouldn't be difficult to remove the bridge, clean up the surfaces and  try again. I also need to do one more French polish session anyway.

Thanks, guys! I have to reglue the bridge though; the entire wing came up by the high E strings. The action wash a skosh high and the low E's intonation was slightly offtoo so I need to tweak the neck angle a little. The finish still needs a little work too.

Nice Neil.  Welcome to the club.  :winkin:
Steve ....aka the SMan

Thanks for the update.  I've learned a lot from your building thread.  The main lesson I've learned is that it's not as easy to take on a project like this as I thought it might be.

Became a Shooting Star when I got my 1st guitar.
Back in '66, I was 13 and that was my fix.
Still shooting for stardom after all this time.
If I never make it, I'll still be fine.

Neil,

A thing of beauty!  You must be so proud.  Good luck with the last remaining nuances.
