Hi,

I bought a Vox AGA70 last week. Here is my evaluation for this amp.

It is a small box featuring a 6,5 inch full range HP. Very portable. Only 23 lbs. There are 2 channels, one solid state and the other with tube.

The solid state channel have a more natural sound, the other one is more colored (not too much). A button call Color change the tone on each chanel. On the tube one, it is more pronounce and can give a lot of differents tones. There are also a chorus button (on and off) and reverb control on each channel.

Overall, the sound is good but not the best I've eard. The small speaker give a little boxy sound. Wou need to work carefully with the EQ to dail a good tone. One good thing is that each channel have an XLR input with Phanton power. A nice addition for signers. I tryed it with a SM58 and it sound good.

So I would prefer a AER amp but my budget don't alow me to buy one. For the price, this Vox amp is not bad. On my C10, it sound a little cold but clean and details. It is better on my barytone Tacoma.

Hope this very small review will help someone.

Kind of cool having a tube and a ss channel. Might work for an electric guitar on the tube side.

It works well if you need a very clean sound.
