Hey guys

Two questions:

What is the standard string gauge?
Can Someone confirm the string height when measuring the distance above the pickups?

Thanks

Joe

Most players use a 10-46 on there electrics.I'm not sure of the pickup hieght for me it depends on a couple of things,How hot are the pickups,if they ohm out at above 12 ohms I set them fairly low to avoid too much magnetic pull on the strings and to keep them from sounding muddy. If they read 8-12 ohms I will set them just below pick hit,by this I mean if the player use a lot of pick to go below the strings I set about a 64th of an inch below the pick tip to keep them hitting the pu withere pick.Lower then 8 ohm it really depends on the player and tone coming out of the pu.Hope this helps but I don't think there really are any set rule's.Playing around with the hieght can be fun and frustrating but worth it.
