I played an older OM05 last night that had a 1 11/16 nut.  I thought all OM's were 1 3/4 nut width.   The neck also seemed very slim (shallow).  It was all mahogany, very nice.  Could this have been a custom?  From the serial # I would guess it was made in the early 90's.  The label just said Larrivee Guitars, Made in Canada.  Inside on the neck block was stamped 05.

Earlier OM's were withthe narrower nut....I think around 2003 they switched over to the 13/4. I am sure someone will correct me on the date.... :roll

Thanks for the info.  This one also had a gloss black headstock.  I have never seen that either.  Looked pretty nice.

Earlier OM-03 and -02s had the narrow nut, but the -05 and -09 (19, 10 etc) had 1 3/4.  When I bought my OM-03R back in 1998 I also played an OM-09 at the same shop.  I liked the wider neck, but couldn't afford the upcharge to the higher end guitar at the time.

I went and bought this little beauty today.  It is indeed a 1 11/16 nut OM5MT, with a gloss ebony headstock.  I suppose it could have been custom ordered.  Has a very slim neck as well.  It's one sweet little guitar.  I will get some pics up tomorrow.

Hey hoopsfan, you and I must be on the same wavelength.  I just won and older OM-05 on ebay a few weeks ago (pretty good deal), and I absolutely love it.  Sold my newer model OM-09, since I like the sound of mahogamy much better. Plays like butter, and I couldn't be happier.  Just had Larrivee verify the manufacturing date, and mine was made in January of 2000.  She's just about to turn 11!  Love the 1 11/16" nut, too. I'll see if I can get some pics up too, and we can compare "notes."

:nice guitar:

I would love to try an OM with a 1 11/16 nut, small-handed one that I am.  I'm tapping my foot waiting for those pictures, though...

Ryler,

I posted pics on another thread, but here they are.  This little box sounds awesome. :donut2
