Takamine has some very nice acoustic electrics for under a grand. If you don't mind the bowl back the Ovation Elite TX is another  good cheap acoustic electric.

My Stagg that I don't really use much anymore,well under a grand.I would rather play my non electric Larrivee's or Guild's.
