some one with a more discerning ear than I have is going to have to listen closely. Maybe my low-fidelity speakers aren't going to be sufficient to bring out nuances.

I listened with a decent set of phones and could discern subtle differences, although they all sound pretty smooth. It would be nice to hear them pushed a bit in order to see how they get "dirty".

I will tell you, they get nice and 'dirty'!  I wish I was techno enough to post some clips, because these pickups really do have a wide range of tones available in them!

I am the King of Dirt. Believe me, this baby with Lollars and a couple of EL84s, gets down and revels in it.
