Very nice, Hang. Nice flame in the back, beautiful silking up front. Looks like you got a winner if it plays only half as good as it looks! :o

Thanks Dave and Don, the gloss does not show that much in these photos but it buffed out pretty good if I have to say so myself! :P   There is a lot of silking on the front, I got lucky on this one;-)

They are jewels aren't they?

Funny thing is I played this during rehearsal last week and totally blew away our bass player who plays a Jumbo! :o

Probably only those who have buffed out their satin guitars recognize the subtle sheen from the pictures but it does make for a beautiful finish. Good job.  ;)

I have heard of people getting really good results from using Meguiar's Glass-X for the first step instead of either the customary step one or 0000 steel wool. Might be something to try on our next one.

Hey Don, I used 2000 grit wet-n-dry on this one and was able to get really close to the neck and bridge.  I followed Mattew's advice and went very slowly and with the grain.  Then I used the usual Meguira's polish and wax for the final stages.  :)

Great polish job Hangfire and that's a very fine looking koa parlour.  i kind of wondering if we should add a "Guitar Tweeks and Mods" forum so folks have a central location to post or find guitar modding information.  i'm always looking for ideas. B)

Note to self:
Read the title of the thread bonehead    :)

My parlor has the micro dots on the fret board and on the left edge of the board.

if i remember correct i think the older versions of the parlors didn't have the dots.

Hey Hang',
Nice job, and nice looking Parlor!  I really think the BW "absorbs" more of the polish and it is even subtler than most ( still a super way to finish)--but I am a firm advocate of this refinishing for any -03 model.  And photos just dont seem to get that nice hand-rubbed shine across.  B)

Thanks naboz!  I agree, the 03's really look great after they've been buffed out.  You really have to be careful because the finish is very thin.  I may try and take some outdoor pics, the lighting has a lot to do with the shine. IMHO B)
