You can add another well-known player to the Larrivee player list.    Over at the Leftyfrets forum Elliot Easton of the Cars has just joined and is showing pics of many of his lefty guitars.    One of them is a Larrivee P-09 which he says he likes very much.     I asked him if he had any other Larrivees and he posted pics of his SD-50 and his OM-60.

His collection of left handed guitars is just amazing.    Martins, Gibsons, Larrivee, and of course, a ton of electrics.

Tommy occasionally plays a Larrivee...

Tuffy, when my brother worked @ Sam Ash on 48th in NYC, Elliot would come in frequently, asking for my bro. He bought so many left-handed guitars it's not funny, not just to play, but to collect also. Guess he liked my brothers easy approach to selling & knowledge? He is a professional guitarist & majored in classical. Also studied with Linc Chamberlin before he passed. Had some cool stories about who would come in, but being a Cars fan, I liked the Elliot Easton ones. Great guitarist.
And is that kid the new B. Cockburn? No. New kid on the block that sings like a girl? Yes!!

'The joke around the leftyfrets forum is that sooner or later every left handed player will own a guitar formerly owned by Elliot Easton.

Singer/ Songwriter John Gorka played Larrivee guitars for several years. In fact he is holding one on one of his album covers. However, when I saw him in concert earlier this year he played a road worn Martin OM for the whole night.

Somehow we missed one of our own.     Juni Fisher (Cowgirlie on the forum) is a dedicated Larrivee player and she has won numerous awards.   most recently the Western Music Association Female performer of the year (2009)   and Best Album of the year "Gone For Colorado".    :cheers

I have 6 pieces up on YouTube, all from a House Concert in Santa Rosa, CA that was happening the same weekend as the '09 Healdsburg Guitar Festival.

Here's my YouTube account link if anyone is interested in seeing/hearing a PV-09 played:

Now that's the way a guitar is played. It's good to see someone using the 'classical' position.

Jon Michaels plays Larrivees.  http://www.jonmichaelsmusic.com/index.php

He shows up regularly on the Christina Cooks show that is a healthfood cooking show on PBS.  He is pretty good.  Dunno about the tofu casseroles Christina makes . . .   :whistling:
