Always a lot of discussion about "Chet-Over-Produced" and "Chet-Raw" recordings.

Here is a page I created where you can listen to the Chet Atkins - Alone album. This album is no longer being sold commercially. It is meant solely for your listening pleasure.
The master at his best IMO.

My pleasure Chris. Chet's got chops doesn't he?

hey orsino, that's a nice thing to do. that's got some great work on it, and a wide range, from Take Five to Me and Bobby Mcgee. yeah, Chet could do it. when i was a kid, we had the album with Les Paul that he cut, called Chester and Lester. i remember really liking it, it's out on cd now. haven't listened to a whole lot of Chet's stuff, maybe i should start. he definitely had a sound of his own. very unique.
thanks,
russ

There is a double Atkins CD available with just Chet. It's called Chet Atkins - Guitar Legend. The RCA Years. 2000 Buddha Records (BMG).
Mr. Sandman is still my favourite

Tom, you're sure a nice guy!

Hear Chet whistle along during Me and Bobby MacGee?

Does that "Mr Watkins" song sound just like Merle, or what?

If you've ever seen his instructional video where he plays Londonderry Air, and Mr. Bojangles, he plays this one lick, and then say's "because I don't have my band, don't you know..."  Was Chet great? You bet!!!!

Thanks again, Tom.   :)
Don't take no wooden nickles, and don't put beans in your ears.

one of the best ever? no doubt.

Certainly not trying to upstage my buddy Orsino, but this is a resource too good to keep to myself:

I know this one isn't original, but I have no clue where I found it around 3 years ago:
