Time for a string change on the RS4. Currently has D'Addario 10's. Has anybody put Ernie Ball's on your RS4? Never tried them before. Your thoughts.

GoldTopRocks,

The jurys out for me on the strings that come on the RS-4's! I love my RS-4 for
sure but I'm not thrilled with the strings that came on it! To my ears they
sound a little to warm and balanced! What's your feelings! I have heard good
comments about the "CLEARTONES" lasting a long time and having good tone!

The Larrivee HB's are so "CLEAR AND ARTICULATE" that a warm vintage sounding
string might be a little to tame for the RS-4! I am going to try some strings that
are known to be a little brighter and punchier! I have played Ernie Ball on all my
electrics and been fairly happy with them!

Strings are the cheapest and least permanent change you can make on your guitar and make a big difference. Different strings? Why not? If you don't like them ...

ducktrapper,

What's your opinion on the "CLEARTONE" strings that come on the
RS-4's?

Have you tried another string that you like better on your RS-4?

They didn't bother me. I'm probably the last guy to ask about strings though. My preferences tend to be ... 6 ... new.  I experiment more with my acoustic guitars. I generally use D'addario EXL110's on all my electrics. Cheap and fine by me.

Thanks much for the opinions! Think I'll give the "Slinky's" a try.

Where on the forum do I submit for a refund if I don't like them? .........
