But we are so off topic now, I'll just stop typing and apologize to JOYCEfromNS for getting side-tracked in her thread. I am sorry Joyce.

I thought we determined that "Joyce" is a him, not a her? ...latercomers to the thread and forum, take note...and please forgive me if I am wrong.

One other thing I meant to mention in the posts right after I received my RS-4...it has no hang tags or anything like that with it. It has the strap locks, 3 'RS-4' labeled pics, allen wrench for the Tone Pros bridge, and the "Larrivee" labeled blue cloth.

Of course, I don't remember getting any other stuff with my other Larrivees, other than a Registration Card, but the RS-4 didn't even come with one of those...should I have received one, or is everything registered online now?

Thanks! Still crazy in love with this thing, and frustrated that there's not more time to play it with the holidays (lots of people around who need attention - can't escape to my man cave very often)!

Exactly the same as I received. I don't have any warranty concerns as no doubt Larrivee will stand behind 110%

Yeah, I'm certainly not worried about them honoring the warranty, just wondered. Thanks.

Mine came with strap locks and cloth but no picks or allen wrench. I called Larrivee and they mailed me a registration card along with some picks.
Love this guitar. The range of tone and sustain always surprises me. The flatness of the neck took me a while to adjust though. But now, all is good.

Happy New Year all.

I thought we were back to registering with cards again. I can't keep up.

Mine came with the strap locks, allen wrench, pics and cloth but no registration card. I purchased it at Guitar Adoptions so I called Dave and he had one to me in a couple of days. I promptly completed it and mailed it to Larrivee. Probably not all that necessary but I feel better knowing it's registered with Larrivee and that they know who own's it. Not a bad back up system for insurance purposes just in case of theft or catastrophe.

Okay, so I have some time on my hands this morning, and I was curious how many RS-4 owners we are up to so far, at least in this thread (I haven't checked all the forums to see if there are others who haven't chimed in here...if you know of others, let me know).

This has sort of become the "unofficial/official" RS-4 thread - as there's lots of good info here that would be missed and have to be repeated if we started a new thread, so here's the updated owners list:

ducktrapper - amber burst
Walkerman - amber burst
GoldTopRocks - goldtop
LawDogStrgsAttach - amber burst (but 'For Sale' see For Sale Forum)
photomat - cherry burst
robwms - white
teacycle - tobacco sunburst
scdreger - charcoal burst
JoycefromNS - charcoal burst AND rootbeer burst
Jetstar7 - charcoal burst
fritferret - amber burst AND tobacco sunburst
mikeymac - rootbeer burst
butao - tobacco sunburst
Ge0ff - tobacco sunburst

So we have 14 owners represented, and 16 RS-4's (two owners, JoycefromNS and fritferret own two each). So far, all guitars are the humbucker version, no P-90's yet.  Someone within the Larrivee forum has expressed a lot of interest in LawDogStrgsAttach's amber burst one, so it will likely continue to be represented here if sold within the family.

Just trying to keep score!

Thanks, Geoff, I just edited me post above and added you to the RS-4 Club! Welcome, and please share your comments, experience, and if you've recorded clips, folks are interested in hearing those, too.

And you have a FANTASTIC WIFE!  Don't let her get away!

I'm being told the RS4  P90's have yet to leave the builder not certain if this is in fact the case. Were there any at that show in Germany? I don't recall. Anyone know of any Dealers with one? Possibly see it at NAMM? Has Larrivee been confirmed to participate in that yet?

None with P-90's in the pictures in the recent thread here (re: Minden, Germany, poster named boomklever). However, there are pics of several on Larrivee's electric page on their website (click the tab that says "Additional Media"), including one with a solid reddish/magenta colored top (custom color?).

We have all heard the saying if a tree falls in the forest.......... does it make a sound. If a guitar is on a Mfg Website but not in The Stores does it exist???? Hmmmmmmm. The P90 certainly isnt making any sounds that I know of yet BUT I sure would like to giver a try.

I seldom read reviews on HC anymore, but I did check in a couple months ago and read the reviews of the RS-4 (there were only 3-4 at the time). I just checked back tonight and there was a more recent (Nov 27, '09) review for a Goldtop.

In his comments, he said he had several conversations with Larrivee after buying the guitar (from an online dealer we're all familiar with around here), and he said that at the time they said they had already sold around 400 RS-4's so far...

...I guess I have nothing to gauge that to (is Larrivee happy with that? is that low, high, what?), and of course, a number of those guitars are still hanging on walls at dealers...

...I'm just surprised that a few more of those folks haven't checked in here to comment about their guitar or learn more...

just sharing the info.  Four hundred is NOT a large number, but it's more than I had imagined so far.

According to this site  http://www.larrivee-electrics.co.uk/    approx 1000 electrics were produced in 1987 thus the 400 might be a little disappointing however I am certain that the quality of the current RS4 and value will cause sales to increase in the forthcoming year. To expect a 1000 in it's 1st year might be optimistic as in 1987 they were on the market for almost 5 years at that time and being played by the likes of Bryan ADAMS. I would be disappointed tho with only 400 of these amazing guitars sold that's just me .

If they made $1000.00 on each of them, it wouldn't be so bad. Math isn't my strongest point but that's pretty good for a start.

I hope they are making a $1000 But feel this is not likely due to the top of the line everything they have these guitars equipped with then factor in startup costs, labor and overhead yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would think their breakeven point would be more than 400 guitars. But as I qualified before I really know nothin about nothin, one thing for sure tho it's one very very nice electric guitar  just speculating thats all and hoping for the best.

All I know about the P-90 version, is that sometime this next year, Larrivee is going to have to make at least one lefty in tobacco sunburst, because I'm going to be selling some things and figuring out how to finance/order one!
