Axiomatic, isn't that one of those Ronco products to keep the landscaping trimmed while you are at work?

Yes and it is the equivalent of a Zorn's lemma. Which of course is used for pruning citrus trees.

Stay calm, we can get you through this.    First, relax. it's not as bad as you think.     He won't be getting near a steering wheel for a few more years so you can put off worrying about him wanting a car for awhile.        But he will be thinking about girls more and more so you need to be prepared for lots of brooding but he will be paying more attention to his grooming habits so that's a plus !   And when he realizes that a guitar will help him out with the girl thing he will suddenly become interested in those as well.

The hardest pill to swallow is the realization that we (you) are getting older.   Scotch helps that pill go down easier   whistling

And, of course, if times get real tough you can always come here for expert advice on how to handle any situation !!

It could be worse, you could have a teenage girl.

My oldest just turned 40 last week.

Rob,

I see bright, shiny teenage moments for you in the future where your son approaches you and says, "Gee, Dad, you're swell.  Thanks for all you've given me over the years.  How may I return the favor?"  Truly, it is my vision of your typical interaction over the next 6 or so years.  And when you say to him, "Son, what would you like to be when you grow up?"  He will respond, "I'd like to be as wonderful as you are, Dad, and maybe, if it's in the cards, I'd like to be a luthier."  That's your future, Rob.  Embrace it.
