That is flat out FALSE humility. I've heard you and know better.

Hey Dan, thanks for the vote of confidence, but even on my best day I'm still stuck at the lower end of intermediate level picking. I keep trying and someday I just might get to where I can think it and immediately play it. I was talking to Amos Lee's drummer at a house concert and another guest came up and told him his drum kit seemed like an extension of his thoughts and Fred replied thanks that is the ultimate goal of any musician and it struck me as beautiful and simple and correct. That is why we keep trying to hammer out melodies and syncopation's, and harmonies because we are trying to simply express ourselves. Instead of dissapointment at realizing that I am not there yet, I had a great feeling of wishing to continue to try to reach that goal...............to someday actually feel like I've reached the spot of earning the right to think of myself as a guitarist.

You have a very full plate, with your fiance, school, building guitars and practicing. And since I know your story and how you could have just given in to morose pity parties the rest of your life.
I think you are doing very well. Nuff said.

Apparently only nuclear war will end THIS thread.

THANKS DAYSAILER.

I have lurked frequently here and enjoy the reading.  I thought I had posted since 4/09 - oh well.

I have been trying to learn to get better on my two Larrivees.  Having started learning as an adult it has been a bit more difficult but I feel like all my efforts and playing 1 to 3 hours every day for the last 6 or 7 years is starting to actually pay off.

AND you are correct, it was Lamb Chop who sang it.  My kids loved it too.  It just somehow seemed appropriate here!
