OK, here's the mock-up of the forum guitar with the dot inlays left in along with the 10-style inlay on the 12th fret... the image without the dot inlays is on the previous page of this thread... personally I think this looks awkward, whereas just the 12th-fret inlay looks kinda elegant. thoughts?

Basically, I think the 'Forum Guitar' should be a one time (or at least a long time between) type of deal.  That keeps it special for the people that buy it.
this brings up an interesting question. will there be a technical model designation from Larrivee? or will it just be referred to as a "limited edition 12-fret OM-03 built for the Larrivee forum"? somehow I like the idea of 25 years from now reading about the "now-Legendary Larrivee ______, which originated as a limited edition etc..."   know what I mean? :)

Also, while I'm here, is there anything else that's simple that people could suggest as options?
How about an abalone rosette. They used to put those on -03 parlors for $50.

I'm sure there are better names that others could suggest, but the first thing that came to my mind was the Larrivee FOM-03 (i.e.- Forum OM-03) or Larrivee FOM-03MT (i.e.- Forum OM-03 mahogany top).

This model will have an ebony fingerboard and bridge.  The ab rosette is possible, but it was an $80 retail option on the parlors, not $50.  The PAOM never had the ab, so we haven't asked about them so far.  I can see how much it will cost to do the Ab rosette, the $50 may work, but since I haven't checked yet I can't say.  It will push the price up a little bit more.  Maybe we should run a poll for the rosette also.  More info tomorrow.  G'night!  J

I guess I was going by what some dealers were indicating in their ads. That was what they increased their selling price by. $80 seems about right.

A rosette and inlay would add about $200 to the price (if a rosette is even an option). Personally I didn't want to spend that much ($1100 or so with shipping) for this guitar. I like the inlay idea over the rosette- it seems simpler. What does everyone else think?

Maybe Zach could include this option in the voting thread he is creating?

Blackwood bindings? I've seen Breedloves with those and they look very sharp.

I'd like to order one with the mahogany top...but I am completely clueless as to how much explaining I need to prepare myself for with my wife. Other than the (very much) earlier post on price there has been no update on what it now would now cost out as. Could we get an update on the current price?

Zac,
I agree as far as the limited run/availability;
(even if I dont get one) it should not come around again for maybe ten yrs., or so--makes it Special!

ok, if I dont get one, how about 5 yrs!?   :P

Will the body shape be the same as the OM 14 fret, or will it be more rounded like the 000-50?

I'm guessing it will be the same shape as the Pete Anderson OM (disregard the other specs in this picture).

Well, I see five people have put up deposits (though I don't know if some are getting more than one).  We need 12 to do this!  C'mon, people!

BTW, thanks for posting the pic of the 12 fret OM above...it really gives me a better idea of what it's going to look like.

Just to throw a little kerosene (parrafin to the Brits on the list) on the fire, the PA had round abalone dots, larger than the standard Larrivee microdots. That might be an option as well.

I personally wouldn't want the large dots. with the PA (which I owned at one point), Larrivee was after a certain cowboy "look", and the large white dots (they were plain white by the way, not abalone) were part of that look.

I personally think the large dots would be the wrong look for the forum guitar...

just my $.02

Yeah, microdots or no dots at all.
