Both with Dr Sunbeams and Newtones. I like these strings but geez. 

Every 3rd or 4th pack usually. I follow instructions about not cutting them off. What gives? With hex cores I rarely get a bad one.

Use some manlier strings like Martin, Daddario, John Pearse, etc.

I've tried Martin (really like the sp+)
              D-add EJs  - like them too

What about John Pearse ....what are your thoughts about them ?

They sound like Martins but a little brighter.
