Hey, has anyone played a Walden guitar? They are imported, but they really play and sound nice. A friend of mine is starting to carry them and said the top custom shop priced acoustic is only in the $1,800 range. He also said that on the top models only two luthiers build the guitars.
I thought they would play like a Blueridge, but I found them to be closer to Larrivee and a dash of Martin. The $600 model already has my attention because it is shipped without a pickguard--that is totally awesome in my book. You see, I really suck when it comes to flatpicking and I doubt I will ever get good enough to need a pickguard! :P
Plus, I think the rosette looks great without a guard over part of it. That is one of the things I love about the Larrivees I have is the clear pickguards!
Anyway, it's interesting to see the imported guitars getting higher in quality.
