I had a night shift to cover and left the house at 4:30pm.. I waited all day for the UPS truck to drive by.. but no luck...
UPS.com said, it was in Winnipeg today.. but it was still "IN TRANSIT".. so I went to work thinking it'll come tomorrow...

When I came home, a big brown box was in the kitchen!!

I named her Terra.. because when I smelled her... she smelled very earthy!
and here are some pictures of my guitar "Terra"

My first song on the guitar was

Van Morrison - Crazy love

I took these pictures in a hurry..
@11:30pm......

I'll post some daylight pictures later too

"Daddy! look what came home while you were gone!!"

108486

opening the box

a hard case!

the first moment I opened the case

No flame or any fancy HB purfling..
but it still got the nice simple touch!

The label! #77

and here she is!

Thank you Larrivee forum for providing this unique and amazing opportunity!!
Special thanks to.. norman, ricky, holly, lynn, danny and jim and so many other forermites!! bowdown

Excellent pictures.  Thanks for sharing.  The wood grain on the top has great definition.  So how does it sound?

She sounds very open! Very loud for its size.
Surprisingly very balanced sound, I was expecting a very strong mid tone..
this guitar has the punch of mahogany.
and she sounds amazing fingerpicked and even better when strummed!

I really haven't played much to know what she sounds like.. but the first impression is.. AMAZING!

I'd love to try out a IS topped LS03!

I'm still drooling over those pics.  That is one sweet looking guitar.  I hope to get my IS topped LS03 in the next couple weeks.

How fun it that? Don't you love what comes to the door when you're at work? Enjoy.

Jeff
Whoa, what a nice surprise !  That is some beautiful mahogany on the top.  You wouldn't expect that grade of hog on a 03 series.   John and the rest of the crew did us right on these.  I'm pretty sure I saw this one in progress when we were on the tour.  It is one of the ones that I referred to as kind of honey colored;  mine is more cinnamon colored.  They are all unique and, as I am well aware, sound fantastic.   Enjoy it my friend, you've been waiting (somewhat) patiently.  Now it's time to rejoice a little.  Congratulations.
Oh, yeah, how do you like that smell ?

 nice guitar

I hope it sounds and plays as nice as it looks!  I might even nominate this guitar for GOTM, it's that nice!

Give it a couple of days and let us know what you think of it after you've played the snot out of it.

You are very welcome. I'm SO glad it all worked out and the guitar is lovely. I have a OM 03 MT and you'll be pleased with the sounds, I would wager.

Now that was worth all the trials, tribulations, and broken (what was it?) water heater!

When you move back to Vancouver you should detour through Texas and play my IS/Hog cousin of yours.

Jeff, very nice. That top looks a lot more like my P-05 MT than my om-03MT.  That outdid themselves building these guitars.
