Hi Folks

I've been using Elixir 12-53s on my OM09 for years. The guitar is just great sounding but some listeners have said that (unplugged) the Bass tramples over some of the other notes, especially with arpeggios. I've tried Martin XPs which were great for a couple of weeks, and then... :(

I've tried Elixir Custom Lights but I lost too much guitar with those and I was wondering if any of you had tried the Dean Markley Alchemy strings? I see they do a bronze (which I'm told is actually brass) and a phosphor bronze; I believe the bronze are supposed to be brighter. They seem to be a bit pricey...are they worth it, or are they just another shiny gimmick?

I'd also thought about going to mediums but I'm a bit twitchy about how much stress this might put on the top of an OM09 over a prolonged period. In any case this would probably enhance the bass even more in proportion to the Med/Top.

Any thoughts/experience?
