I can see it now...everybody gets all wound up submitting pictures and voting on their favorites.....and the winner is chosen.....then somebody's head explodes when Zach doesn't get around to changing the picture in a timely manner!

Ponte you can do it if you want. I suggest starting another thread and we let this one die.

I can not commit myself  due to lack of time.
I´m sorry  crying

I think the down side here is that some peoples guitars won't get voted on...how will they feel...like crap I would suppose?  if we leave this up to Zach....or who ever then no one gets hurt...you just might have to wait for them to get around to it.

It was just a suggestion, maybe it won't work

If you all can figure out a reasonable and fair way to vote on a new GOTM for the next month by the end of each month, I'll try to alert Zach to change the picture each month, and if I'm not here, one of the other mods will. We'll want a link to the winning photo.

How's that?

It's not a big deal to me. Opinions have swung so far each way that I don't want to mess with it. Maybe someone else does.
I think your Idea is a good one but the rest need to have their say. If you started a thread it may be better, than it being one I started. A poll may help, but it's up to the forum members if it really matters or not.

I say the mods take each picture submitted, put it on their bulletin board, and throw a dart the first of each month. Every 3 months they torch the board and start again.

I actually have my bookmark to the Forum page, and rarely spend much time on the home page.

This is a quote from Steve:

"When I started to add the Guitar of the Month to the home page I asked the mods if they wanted to help pick the monthly winner but got no response.  So I would pick a few candidates and have my wife choose the monthly winner."

I think the mods would be a good choice for the ones to pick and post the GOTM.

this would involve removing politicians' faces from my dart board, which I am loathe to do

Choosing the GoTM is easy, the problem is getting Zach to change the picture.  He changed my status here and I no longer have access to the Admin section.

This has happened before, same deal.  We had a guitar of the month and Zach would never change the picture, in fact he was never here.  He made me an Admin and I changed the forum software to make it easy to edit the Home page and started the GoTM back up.

Now we are back to Zach whom is to busy for this forum I guess...

Oh my where can I get me one of those babies! Seriously, I don't care about the GOTM because my 000-50 TSB is at least GOTY (again) and prettier than all of your guitars put together.

How about two for the price of one.

That certainly puts me in good company!  And the symmetry ... true bookends.

Alright. Here's what I think we should  do.

1. Members can nominate pictures already in the pictures section.

2. A member can only nominate 1 picture per month.

3. If a member nominated a winning picture for the previous month, he/she must wait another month before submitting further nominations.

4. If a members picture has been GOTM it can not be GOTM again

5. If a member has had a GOTM in the last 6 months, another picture from that member can't be nominated again.

6. Nominations must be of Larrivee made instruments (guitars, mandos, etc)

7. nominations will be in a sticky thread in the Pictures section started by one of the mods each month. By the 20th of the month the mods will pick the top 4 (in their opinion) pictures and a Vote thread will be started (each month) so that members can pick the next GOTM from those 4 nominations. Zach will be asked to make that picture the following month's GOTM.

8. Nominations will be closed each month by a mod after 8 nominations have been received.
