I have been using Elixir light gauge for the past year or so on my redwood topped Breedlove. I'm wondering what strings are favored by mahogany topped Larry owners. I'm the ecstatic owner of an L-05MT.   nice guitar

I like Martin, John Pearse, or Eric Schoenberg strings on my OM-03MT. Most importantly they have to be 80/20's, my MT doesn't like Phosphor Bronze at all.

Ah-ha! Jeremy, what is  it about the phosphor bronzes that your MT doesn't like? Too "bright"?

I think the bass sounds kind of weak and sterile when I use PB's on this particular guitar. The sixth string is already a little weaker than it should be but it just disappears when I use PB's.

I like John Pearse PB Mediums (.013-.056) on my L-05MT but I have to say I like them on all my guitars. When I can't get them I go back to the strings I have used for years and years: D'Addarios.
80/20s are brighter than PBs. I get too much noise (scratch) moving the left hand between frets with 80/20s.
They are on sale now @ strings and beyond. I got 8 sets of D'Addarios EJ17s delivered for under $40
and the main reason I use .013-.056 is due to frequent alternate tuning changes, lights break on me too much.

I like Elixir Nano Pb lights on my MT.  My other favs are Tomastik Spectrum Bronze.

Cheers,

I keep coming back to D'Addario lights for my LV-03 MT12 string and I even keep it tuned down a whole step. With no loss of tone or volume, these are a little easier to fret and bend.

Afraid to switch to mediums even though I am sure it would be fine.

Jeremy - I put JP 80/20s on my OM-MT Forum II and she is sounding SWEET!
