It is an awesome looking guitar.  I hope the forum gits are half as good looking.  I think it looks a heap better without the pickguard too.

 nice guitar

OK so....it's been 10 days since the cutoff date for ordering the guitar.  When do they start making them?  Have they started already???

I just had an idea....on the ever popular topic of buffing a satin finished Larrivee.

It just occurred to me that since Jim Holler is a Certified Loothier that he must have a buffing wheel/device. I wonder if he would buff them as a special set up procedure...I bet he could do a better job than I could with my little rag and can of McGuires....I wonder what he would charge.....this might require a phone call.

Looking at audiophil's LS-09 gave me the idea...

I wouldn't expect that Jim would do that work.  First of all, it may be considered a modification of the original finish and there would be warranty issues.  Next, what if you don't like the job he did on it?  I think the best thing you can do is do what Tuffythepug's doing, he's using his OM-03R for practice first.  For me, I'll be good with exactly what I'm buying.  Audiophil's guitar does look great though!

I'm happy to wait for mine. I wouldn't mind getting it in June for my Bday, even. Besides, I need time to scrounge for pennies.

I should have the order numbers for the label from Jim shortly. The official count is 76 orders total.

I think everyone already knew that Ricky would be 76/76. And Dan will be 1/76.

Money or not, you're going to give the guy tendinitis or CTS.  wacko

Totally unrelated, my birthday is in late February so this guitar is my 30th birthday present. Couldn't ask for a better one.

Cheers,

Adam

Adam, my D-09 was my 30th birthday present last year, and having sold it to get the forum III, that technically makes it my 30th present too.

Beautiful guitar audiophil!!!!

Regarding "runout", I have been windowshopping (and regular shopping) for Larrivee's for many years.  Having looked at hundreds and hundreds of gits (some in person, but untold numbers at our favorite online retailers), I have seen quite a few Larrivees with what is being described here as runout - where the sides of the top are different shades.

BOTH of my 3 series Larries have runout.  the silver oak on the back (see photo) and my L03R on the top (only slightly).  As others have mentioned, "it don't bother me none", and can actually be kinda cool.  But I have to admit, it's easier to swallow on the back.  On top it kinda irks me.

So far what from I have read, runout somewhat effects the sound. (I am sure I wouldn't notice too much of a difference btw runout and not)

But why wouldn't QC pick out these??

Great, thanks for posting that Randy.  Do we really have to wait three to four months.  I don't think I will cope. crying
