I can't make up my mind. Unfortunately I can't try them both. Anyone out there that can describe the difference in sound and feel. They are priced just about the same. The D60 is slightly more expensive but it also comes with a p.u.

I dont envy you ,your decision I mean, but really either one is fantastic.
Personally ,I dont like the electronics, you can always put a pickup on a guitar.
make sure the D28 is a good one, I have played some not so great ones .

I had my lefty D-03R at a store and ab/d it with a lefty D-28. I liked the D-28 a lot, but found the Larrivee to offer just as much bass and more in the highs and mids. Never played a D-60, but I'll bet it's an outstanding guitar, made with consistency.

My main guitar now is a D-60 and I use to own a 44 D-28 . I love the D-60 and miss the D-28. Most if not all of the D-28's I've played in stores disappoint me. But i have played a D-28 marque and a 2, D-28V's that I really liked. I still want to get a D-28v if I find one used at the right price. But to chose between a D-28 and A D-60 I would have to play them side by side to make that choice. And if it was one of those 1 in 10 d-28's I don't know which one I would take home.

Now to answere your question ....... the martin will have more bass, deeper bass and will not be a balanced as the Larry. the Larry will respond to finger style a little better if you choose to play that style on it. But it all boils down to if you like the Larry's more modern sounding voicing or the more traditional martin bluegrass voicing. The D-60 has that Larry sound only louder, deeper, and a little richer... I know that this will probably not be of any help to you in your decision ..... but hey, you can blame everything on me . my wife does. flathead

Martins are all over the map where sound is concerned. Larri's, at least the 25 or so that I have played all had the signature Larrivee sound(clean and balanced) Go with the Larri, give yourself a little time to gain an appreciation for the Larrivee sound and enjoy forever

If I were you, I'd get the D28!!

and save up some money.. and treat yourself with an L03!!

I just played one at a local store... today!! o boy is it ever so sweet!
