Hi,

Anyone know what gauge strings Larrivee puts on their OM's?  I am nearly ready to replace the Nanowebs that are on there now, but am not sure what gauge these are.

Thanks,

I believe that they normally ship with lights from the factory (.012).

conventional wisdom is to use light strings if you use finger style because the strings are slighly more pliable.  If you flatpick or need greater volume, try mediums.

It's not such a bad idea to try different gauge strings, or different string manufacturers for that matter.   I like Martin strings, and I've heard good things about D'addario D-17s.

If you do decide to go mediums it's worth a call to the shop you bought the guitar from to ask whether the guitar set-up will need to be checked.  Setups for light strings can in some cases lend to a bit of fret-buzz when mediums are put on.

The nanowebs are lights from the factory unless something has changed.  If you replace with anything other than nano lights the guitar will probably need a slight adjustment.  Moreso if you change the guage.
