Actually, the post of yours which I responded to was posted AFTER your apology, which kind of made your apology meaningless.

You can only die once...a "re-test" is not possible.

If you are a Hindu, you might believe you can reincarnate and die a thousand times for others.
If it sounds good, it is good.

Don't pick your nose or pick your butt in public.  :cheers

Methinks you need some java :coffee :coffee :coffee :coffee :donut2 :donut and something to eat.

If a man needs to ask for help, it's too late to volunteer.

Somehow Sweb's post reminds me of a line from a Bruce Springsteen song,
"God have mercy on the man who doubts what he's sure of"  (this is not actually life advice :winkin:)

I prefer:

"May God  grant you the courage to doubt your staunchest beliefs"
If it sounds good, it is good.

This is not the best one but certainly right up there:

I was at a Steve Vai concert in Bangkok during my highschool years and as a lucky fan I got to go back stage and talk to the guy..I said the usually greetings and mentioned how I wanted to be like him..

He looked me straight in the eye, held me tight at my shoulders and said,

" Fxxk you!  Be yourself ! "
***I stiill got so much to learn***

"One small heart, and a great big soul that's drivin"

When it comes to managing people this advice always helps me.

My grandmother said,

"you can't get honey by kicking the hive!"

"It will be a great day when the schools get all the money that they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber."

My father-in-law was my best friend and guiding light for many years. He always said, "Focus on results." He always insisted the process was less important than results.

The other good advice I got was to bring donuts to every party and you would always have friends!   :donut :donut2 :donut :donut2

I heard a father tell his son on prom night: "Don't be a horse's a$$."

Here's a good one I heard recently:

"Do the next right thing."

I like that.

So many great quotes/advice listed already, this is one I read just last week a quote from James Doti at Chapman Uinversity
in an article when asked what one piece of advise would he give to young people today.

"Find your passion, and turn it into a career"

I wish I'd have thought of that about 34 years ago  :rolleye:
My wife says I can buy, sell swap guitars and cars as much as I want...
as long as I don't start swapping wives... sounds like a good deal to me.

Oddly, his recent death brought this gem back to mind, even though it has been nearly 30 years since I read the book... and I am NOT known for having a good memory! Ergo, I must have 'registered' it in my head as 'life advice'....

"When you are cold, don't expect sympathy from someone who is warm."
from, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch
                                                                        Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Not advice but here are three worth repeating:

"Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you're standing a thousand miles from the cornfield."
Dwight D. Eisenhower

"You gotta learn that if you don't get it by midnight, chances are you ain't gonna get it, and if you do, it ain't worth it."
Casey Stengel

"It's amazing what can be accomplished when no one cares who gets the credit."
Harry S. Truman
