Hi all,

I've had a sense recently that inflation is a lot worse than what is let on by "those in the know". Yesterday I got my latest Musicians Friend catalog and noticed that the advertised price of a Fender Standard Stratocaster jumped from $399.99 to $439.99. List price is shown as $621.41 (up from $571.41). That's  pretty good jump in my mind. Also, today I see headlines that the EURO is up to over $1.50US, maybe that's the reason.

and yet there appears to be a glut of really good bargains on really good *pre-owned* guitars.

This will be interesting. I would think that, as inflation rises, used guitars should get less expensive. Guitars are one of those things that will sell when people need money. The more they need money, the more for sale, the less they sell for. Especially the ones that have sat in the case for their life because the owner was going to learn. Or, they just don't play that much anymore. I would expect that deals are on the horizon.

I've noticed that a number of good looking offerings on e-bay have gone wanting for even a single bid. I suspect you may be right that some pretty good deals will be available in the near future, if you have the cash and don't have to sell something.

Even if I had the cash, the deal in my house is that I can't have any more guitars than there is room under the bed for the cases..........managed to squeeze in a little ukulele case last week, but I'm afraid I'm done for a while.  blush

 +1

Holy cow I just realized I just went gold. Can't have my 1000th post a +1.
I think you need to buy a mattress wearhouse, at least a house with more bedrooms.
Here's another idea, put you bed on stilts.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the good ideas to solve my "under the bed" issue. Mr LV_19E, Congrats on topping 1,000 (now get a life)

Actually, I bought a new bed with higher clearance (stilts) to solve the issue of no more case room in the closets. I'm noe thinking about a king size bunk bed, but I'm afraid, if I did that, once I climb up to the top bunk my wife will take the ladder away.
