Oh, I welcome disagreement. I suspect some devil's advocacy here. Better than capitalism and democracy? Systems based on wishful thinking. To continue to support them involves being forgetful of history and short on facts. Better than N.A.?  Anywhere in Africa, Antarctica, South America or Asia really interest you as great places to live and raise a family? Many of us would take Australia but they won't take us. Europe? Not bad this week. However, Canada could use a couple of NATO allies to get their hands dirty in Afghanistan but Europeans are just too darn sophisticated to even defend themselves. Have a nice time becoming Iranians. The Russians are back, as well.
People vote with their feet. Which way are the rafts going? Any Americans that prefer communism or socialism to capitalism and democracy have only 90 miles of water to cross.
BTW, The Mexicans (North Americans technically but ...) are not even talking about building a wall.

Actually Victor Davis Hanson says it better. Here he is being interviewed by a European magazine on this very subject. Smart guy, interesting discussion.

I've played several gibsons that were really bad for the money.  Actually, many were just plain bad.  I'm not saying all gibson are crap, but I'm just saying they put out some questionable products at HIGH prices.

Ive played Gibsons that just made you think that there couldn't be a better guitar made by anyone. But then the other day a salesmen handed me a new J-45 traditional and said it was the cats meow.... It wasn't much at all. They tuned it up a little better and another salesman handed it to me again, it sounded a little better, but was not built well enough to be selling for 2k plus.... About a month ago I was in a Gibson national rep showroom and I pulled a few off the wall and strummed them and fell in love again with a sound and feel that I knew in the early 70s. Same with Martin... and Taylor just doesn't impress me until you get in the 800 series. Stitched necks look funky to me and they don't sound any better than the Larri's that are half the price. The Chinese make a few good acoustics, but who knows if they will hold up very long. I'll stick with Larrivee as the best buy and "Buyer beware" on the rest. Danny cop
