Very cool Krefett,  the tuner knobs look really nice with the inlay.  :thumb

Awesome inlay work on that mermaid!

Were the tuner buttons after-Market? If so where did you get them? Just my wife is a Kiwi and those look like New Zealand Paua.
Larrivee Custom LCJ-10-12E 'Baby Dragon' and vine-of-life inlay
Larrivee Custom C-10E 'Ddraig Bach' ('Baby Dragon')
Gibson Les Paul Historic '59
Legra custom-made Les Paul Doubleneck
1967 Shaftesbury LP Black Beauty copy now with Bareknuckle humbuckers and 1959 spec wiring loom.

I suggest the tuner buttons on the "Mermaid" are original ones - ordered by the former owner.

The buttons on the "Gryphon" were sold at Crazyparts, Hildesheim, Germany - the original tuners (Schallers) are still in their position.

Hope this link helps you to find some fine after market parts for your guitar:

Here's my VanCity L10 with custom vinyl inlays by yours truly. It features a custom designed wolly mammoth (bought this on ebay) on the headstock and black electrical tape fret markers. Anywhere the tape or sticker wouldn't cover the abalone I colored in with black sharpie. This guitar is 9 or 10 years old now and is playing and sounding better all the time. It's been the only guitar I drag around with me; I've played it live for the last few years and it's always being borrowed out for sessions. It sounds fantastic on tape, especially on fingerstyle and folky stuff. I'm thinking about spray painting the top silver so it looks like a mirror, or maybe doing a frankenstein type thing like EVH did with a strat. I'm also curious about cutting a series of ports along the upper bout so the player gets some direct sound. If anyone wants this type of work done to theirs drop me a line.

Great thread.  Such a wonderful legacy of work left by the Larrivee family over the years.

Beautiful! That says "Artisan" to me, in a big way.
Can we have some more pictures of this one, perhaps in another thread?

Sorry for having missed your nice comment Ron  Thanks for showing your appreciation.
You can see a few more pics of my JS Joray HERE
Interesting to see how quite a few inlays are inspired by the Jugendstil.

A guy I know has a D9 or 10 that has an eagle on the headstock, it's nice. It's 90's, limited run I think. Anyone have one of these?

Chiasson: I hope we will find it - Wendy creates several eagles - found some examples on the www., but I have no own pictures.

L7two: Thank you very much for posting this piece of... !

Hi all

I have the third Larrivee down LJCM 10 Maple with  lighter wood and Gryphon . I have tried for ages to post a pic without success
I bought this guitar new in the late 80's at Andy's guitars of Denmark St Soho London , was wondering how many were made how much this
guitar might be worth , think I paid nearly 4k USD , I really don't want to sell my most precious guitar but my carpentry business went under and I need capital to get started again

Cheers n Best Wishes and if anyone can explain in very simple terms , how to post pics will include some

Hi,

this very unique headstock belongs to a 1979 Larrivée L 78. The guitar is now for sale at the fellowship of acoustics - in my opinion one of the finest guitar shops in Europe. Have you ever seen a second one like this?

Hope you like the headstock and the shop. Try this link:

As with Ponte's on the first page of this thread, here's another simple, but less common, one:

cheers,
andrew
Hi Andrew, just reading this thread for the first time.  That logo matches the one on my 1983 L-07.  I'd be interested in knowing what model and year yours is and maybe you could post a pic of the whole guitar.

Kurt

Became a Shooting Star when I got my 1st guitar.
Back in '66, I was 13 and that was my fix.
Still shooting for stardom after all this time.
If I never make it, I'll still be fine.
