Anyone know where to get ebony buttons for the 'Large Schaller style' Gotohs? One of my buttons is stripped on the Pings  :rolleye: and I've got one tuner with a chrome button on it right now.  I know the Larrivee buttons that fit the Pings don't fit Gotohs and StewMac says the Schaller buttons also don't fit.

Elderly has ebony buttons for Grovers, would they work??

Why not just change the old Ping tuners for a set of Gotoh Deltas..........21:1 ratio.  I put some on my dred......VERY, VERY nice and SMOOTH as silk!   :thumbsup

Yeh I'm wanting to put Gotoh's on but I won't use metal buttons

I put the ebony buttons from the Larrivee online store on my Gotoh 510's and before that they were on an OM-05 I had.....just use the screw that is currently in the Pings, then jerry rig some cheaper Larrivee ebonized ones on.  It should work just fine, not sure why they are saying they won't work.

I can't imagine my Gotoh 510's are that much different than the Gotoh's you have......

Ooops, didn't see you posted this: http://www.elderly.com/accessories/items/1020E.htm  <------ I suspect buying one of those will solve the problem.

My 510 Gotoh's have black ebony wood buttons on them.  In fact, they look exactly like the old ping sytle that was on there.  I've seen the Gotoh's with the rounded modern look (which I'm not fond of) and chose to go with the Shaller style buttons.  I really like it.
There is no need to go with metal buttons......there are tons of choices.

where did you get them from?

I've got 18:1 Gotoh 510s and the ebanoid buttons from the pings fitted on them fine.

I tried the Larrivee/Ping ebonite buttons on the Gotohs they didn't fit well.

If I remember right, the Gotoh buttons were too small to fit on the Pings thus the Ping buttons were too big for the Gotohs.

Hmm...and you used the gotoh screws when you tried those larrivee buttons?

Well I'm pretty sure they didn't fit snugly on the 'button post' regardless. The ebonite buttons don't fit as tight as they should on the Pings to begin with

I guess I was mistaken....but I don't work much with the larrivee tuners as of late.  They immediately come off and Gotoh's go on.  Just how I've always done it.
