just got a used om 09 with a tusq saddle

need setup, lower action for fingerpickin local guitar shop recommeded
1. setup cost $75 same as bone

what i was contemplating is if i get a new bone saddle installed
1. will this be as good as a setup , since a presume the action could be lowered when the new saddle get put in
2. local reputable guitar store , says that the tusq saddle is very good and does not recommed the bone saddle be put in

yet i see eveyone on this forum says bone the way to go
anyone think contrary??

I'm a little lost.

A setup cost $75 and a bone saddle also cost  $75?

There is no saddle vs. setup scenario. If you need a setup, get one. If you need a setup and want a bone saddle get both. I'm not sure why you are asking for a comparison between a setup and a saddle.

A bone saddle blank shouldn't be more than $10.

As for Tusq vs. Bone. I've always prefered bone over Tusq with the three Larrivee's I've had. It seems more responsive and Tusq has a hint of a plastic like sound.
