Any Hillsong Austrailia fans out there???

Well FYI, Marty Sampson, one of their lead praise leaders uses a Larrivee C.

I just thought it was cool to see Marty rockin out with a Larrivee C on the Hope dvd.

And another thing, Reuben Morgan(another hillsong praise leader) uses a Taylor with a florentine cutaway along side of Marty Sampson(i think they were trying to coordinate), but the florentine on a Taylor grand auditorium body just doesnt look right.... imo it looks like a generic Larrivee C.

Gosh, the Larrivee C's are just sexy beasts...

I like the Hillsongs writers, but there are other P&W writers out there.  We've gone through Hillsongs ruts in the past at our church, where we just wear out their songs.

While the message of "Shout to the Lord" is great, I've heard it so many times and we've done it so many times in our worship team, it's become old-hat and downright annoying - sorry if it seems I'm speaking blasphemy.

For an alternative, try Tommy Walker's stuff.  Equally inspiring, and if you buy some of the earlier records, you get killer studio musicians playing on the record that actually go to Tommy's church in Pasadena, Christian Assembly.  I've been there a couple of times, and their worship band is downright unbelievable.  Tommy led worship for most of the Promise Keepers events for several years.

Here are the folks that attend this somewhat small 250 or so seat church and sit in with the worship team from time to time:
Abraham Laboriel - bass player extraordinaire
Alex Acuña - probably the highest demand latin percussion player
Justo Almario - flutes out of this world
and others (oh yeah - Tommy is a mean electric player himself)

The whole congregation sings out their songs  - the place just rocks.  "Never Gonna Stop" is a great place to start, it's released on Integrity's Hosanna label.

I love hillsongs.  We do a lot of their stuff too in church.  I have their Blessed DVD and it's such a great thing to worship too!

I was wondering what Marty was playing... it seems on the Blessed DVD, he has his headstock covered with something.  It does look sweet though!

so far, Hillsong is my favorite Christian music band because alot of their songs touch my heart; esp. the slow songs - ie, power of your love, STILL, jesus, love of my soul, on eagle's wings, etc etc...beautiful lyrics, melody, instruments and vocal :) there's a band in Taiwan called "Joshua" B)  that translates various Hillsong music into Chinese~ the music sounds good in either language!
