Electronic Tuner - Where Do I Get One Of These?

My guitar teacher uses a new type of tuner that attaches directly to the guitar and picks up on the vibration of the instrument.  He sells them for $65 but about a year ago he sold me the one I have now for $25 and I found it online for $10.  He said these new ones come in black and tortise-shell.

Does this sound familiar with anyone and do you know where I might find them online cheaper?

If not, any recommendations on a good tuner?

Thanks

Dan

Dave at Guitar Adaptions has the Intellitouch tuners, which is what you appear to be refering to.

The white ones are the basic model. The black ones have a backlight for the lcd display.

I use a white one and don't need the extra light.

I did a google search on "clamp on tuner" and came up with these:

That should give you a place to start. Apparently there are two models made by Intellitouch. There will undoubtedly be more.

Sabine also makes tuners that stick to the side of the guitar.  That work OK with gloss guitars but don't stick to satin finishes.  I have one in the rosewood finish.  From your comment about the tortoise color, this could be what you're referring to.

I prefer the Intellitouch to the Sabine.  With the Sabine you have to clean the pad, so that it remains sticky.

Thanks for the links.

Those are not the ones he was using.  His was flat one that attached to the body of the guitar.

I could ask him but he I won't see him for 3 weeks as he is headed out of state.
