Hey Brandon, I tried one of these a while back:

I loved it.  One dread I would actually consider buying because it's got a 1 3/4" nut.  That plus I love the combination of mahogany and cedar.  The craftmanship is excellent, great fit and finish.  The sound and fell were great on the one I tried.  Warm and responsive with plenty of bass and volume.

Hi Brandon,

Stonebridge is the brand of Franticek Furch from Czech Repuplic, he uses the brand for the english speaking countries...

(When english speaking guys tried to pronounce "Furch" it often ended in a popular "F-Word"... no good reputation.  :winkin:)

The guitars are fine..

I tried a Stonebridge OM in Montreal last October. Very nice guitar! I've kept Stonebridge on my radar ever since.

A friend of mine is a dealer of Stonebridge guitars.  They are very nice guitars, built very well.  Most of them are a tad bright sounding for me, but overall I like them.  At the price point, however, I would take the Larrivee (but that's why I'm here right?).

I did get a chance to play an archtop that was a prototype bought at the last NAMM show, and it was a REALLY nice guitar.  It had a carved sitka top and solid flame maple back and sides (no plywood here folks), ebony finger rest, gold hardware, perfect sunburst finish...You could get a great acoustic sound out of it and a fantastic electric sound.  You could not tell it was not a guitar costing 5 times as much.  The MSRP is around 2000 I believe, street like 1800.  The Czech Republic has a reputation for making great copies of classic instruments that sound and perform like the real ones.  Take Capek mandolins...the Stonebridge guitars reflect that type of craftsmanship.
OM-03 MT Custom (Cree Studios "Fish Guitar")

My July/Aug Flatpicking Guitar magaziine arrived yesterday with a picture of Andy Falco on the cover with his Stonebridge.  On pg. 25, Dan Miller writes a good article about Stonebridge guitars.

FGM and Fretboard Journal are the only 2 magazines that I read.  Good reading and lots of "guitar eye candy".

<1 or 2 nice ones>

I just ordered a Stanford OM5V Vintage guitar, it's basically the same one as Stonebridge 34SR (or OMS-34SR) here:

Stanford Artist 5 Vintage Series:

It's was 300 € less than Larrivee OM-03R here - in Europe Larrivee street prices start from 1100 € for 03 Series mahogany models.

Stanford OM Vintage 5 rosewood
Larrivee D-03R
Yamaha APX-4A
Peders Standard
Gibson LP Studio
DeArmond Starfire Special
Ibazez AF75 BS
Ibanez RG350 EX

The gold series Avalons with abalone rosettes are also Furch's - and nearly identical to certain Stonebridge models.
