Ok, I am late discovering almost everybody musically relevant, so it seems!
But, I finally traked down a copy "The Telluride Sessions" by Strength In Numbers, a so called super group, headed up by Bela Fleck, Same Bush, Jerry Douglas, Mark O' Connor and Edgar Meyer.
I pretty much think Bela Fleck rules since I discovered him on a RykoDisc "Steal This Disc" edition back in the 1980's. It was some of the most complex banjo (yup, that is what I said) work I have ever heard.
I would recommend this CD because it appeals to everyone. My fantastic stepdaughter even got into it and she normally doesn't like bluegrass.
These guys really grow on you--they are all stars in their own right. Somehow, as much as I truly admire Sam Bush, I think his work in groups like SIN is some of his best. The mandolin is out of this world.
Thank god for people like Bela Fleck who take things outside of the box, you know?
Enjoy,
Fred
