Any danger of putting a .059 or .060 6th string on an SD? Could I cause any damage? Norman Blake uses this heavy gauge on the 6th and I'm curious to give it a try but don't want to damage my new guitar. Any thoughts? I've always read to NEVER put on a heavier string than the guitar is set up for, so I'd like to know if I should avoid doing this. Have one on me in advance for your help.

I wouldn't think just one oversized string would make much of a difference. I bet the biggest problem you'll run into is that your guitar isn't setup for that size string (The nut and bridge pins)

I e-mailed Larrivee and Brian said that nothing heavier than a 53 is recommended by the factory. This must be an error, since my SD came strung with D'Addario medium gauge, a .056 on the 6th. I'm going to e-mail Larrivee again.
