I saw a gorgeous pic of a McElroy in a recent post and was curious if anyone here has any experience with them? I like the look quite a bit.  I never heard anything about them and there is only one review I could find.  What price range do they usually fall into?

I have never played his guitars, but they are very highly thought of in terms of tone & aesthetics.
His guitars start at around $4000.  Expensive, but considered mid priced in the small luthier market.
Here is his site.

Just to offer a recommendation for another builder to check out... give John How a look.  If I were currently in a position to have a guitar built John would be my man.  His guitars start at just under $3000.  He also participates regularly on APM and is a great guy.  He really specializes in small bodied guitars... 000 - parlors.  More on the traditional side although he does a contemporary finger style guitar that is very elegant.

The John How jumbo parlor is pretty sweet.  Never heard of them either.  Have you had a chance to play one?

Nope, haven't played one yet.  But those who have (many of the guys over at APM) love them.
I intend to play one very soon.  John has been working on perfecting a early 20's Stella repo, which he plans on sending on a road trip to people who are into those type of old guitars.
