http://rockstarnot.audioshot.net/songs/newer/Scott%20Lake%20and%20Jens%20Leuner%20-%20Tram%20Final.mp3

The lyrics are by Jens Leuner, found on the www.kvraudio.com forums in the 'lyrics needing songs' thread.

L-03 capoed at 5th fret, CAD M-177 mic at 12th fret aimed at about 16th fret, 3" away from fretboard into dbx mini pre-amp into my PreSonus FireBox.  High pass filtered at the mic and in software.

Piano is splendid soundfont into Ariesverb reverb (my favorite for ambient kind of stuff)

Vocal is CAD mic again.  Freeverb too used for the verb on that.

Tracktion used to record/mix.  Final Mix plugin used to clean up mix since I'm no good at it.

44 views and no comments on the song or the sound of the larry?

I've posted this elsewhere and gotten pretty good reviews, but this is where I want to hear from.

Any takers?  It's only a 2 minute song so it won't cost you alot of download time.

I'm listening to the clip right now. Very nice, the music, the guitar - and your voice, too.

nice. starts off very softly and I had to increase the volume.

one could almost feel the rain. A good song for a rainy day, which it is here.

Nice job Scott.  It is pretty "processed" so I couldn't tell too much about the sound of the Larrivee... that is not a bad thing, just my take on it.

it really pulls you into the mood of the song.

Scott, I enjoyed this recording; everything works. I'll check out the recordings on your website. The lyrics, BTW, were quite poetic. The mood and the melody fit the lyrics. And yeah - these Larrivees sure do sound good. :-) Mind if I save it to my iTunes? I'd like to have it in the rotation. Good job...

Well, I think the 'processed' comment might come from the response of the microphone, it's positioning and the fact that the guitar is capo'ed at the 5th fret for this song.  I probably should have moved the mic closer to the soundhole.  There was nearly no processing on either the vocals nor the guitar tracks.

Ol Achey....

By posting the song, for listening and not just a streaming file, the intention was that if you liked it, to go ahead and download for your use.

I've had another forum poster kindly record a fretless bass line for the song - which was lacking in low-end.  I'll post the final result once I'm done.
