I can understand one not having a taste for Jewel or her music, but it's not rational to say her voice is "bad."  She's actually a professionally and classically trained singer with control and range that defies her pop peers.  Her label-style limits the apex of her abilities.
true. whether a person likes her music or not aside, the woman has a great voice.

I've gotta agree about Jewel. I saw her live, jsut her and her guitar. She talked about her love of Jazz and Ella, and Sassy. Then broke into an old Jazz standard acapella and did it proud, scat singing and all.  The lady can sing, as acoustic said, she has more chops than most of her contemporaries. Since everyone else is doing it, I owuld love to hear her do a Jazz standards album.

Kurt Cobain anyone? Also, I think Jack Johnson has lousy singing voice. John mayer's voice is very chalky and ugly, but he makes it work! However, I really like all their music.

Gee I hate finding out all my favourite singers, can't sing.  Here's some singers that I hate.

Meat Loaf
Mariah Carey
Steven Tyler
Madonna
Jon Bonjovi
Jewel
Steve Perry
The guy in Boston
Freddy Mercury
Jon Anderson
Judy Collins

I hate several of those people as well...but jewel? Stevie wonder?  Freddie mercury? mariah carey?

I don't see Stevie Wonder on that list?

I don't think Stevie Wonder would make anybody's list of "bad voices"

I'm a fan of Leon's too, but in my house everyone leaves the room when I put his music on.

Yeah, that was a great movie too.  Joe Cocker is another one that sounds like he gargled with drano but I love listening to him.

I make sure the suicide prevention hot-line number is on speed dial before putting anything of his in the CD player.
Still listen though...............
