From what I can find the Yellow plywood top is actually sitka and the reddish brown plywood b/s is either Rosewood or Nato.  Many people love these guitars and I should kick myself since my son has a Yamaha JR1 that is very close to this model only in  3/4 size.

The player is a 23 year old who bought this guitar used for $100 (Canadian) when he was 16. He loves it!
