Hi - I was wondering what the nut width and scale length is on this 12 fretter ?

I'm new to Larrivee's so I was wondering if there was any chance you could post a photo of it beside another guitar (a dread or an OM would be useful) just so I could get some sense of scale (I'm looking for a non parlor, couch guitar that is relatively easy to bring on a plane).

Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan.  1 3/4" nut and standard (25.5") scale. It's close to an OM in size.

Is this still available? Can you clarify more what the two blemishes are?

Thanks in advance!

I've got a Gibson SG Artist Model Paisley case that's been waiting for the right SG forever.

Mine looks just like this.

So, are you constantly retuning for two weeks?

Yes - that's what I find. However, once settled in, they are extremely stable. I suspect a lot of other makes will be just the same, but I have no experience to confirm this.

..........Man that's a real Rocker! I bet it sounds awesome too. What wood is the body?.................

The body is a one-piece Khaya (African mahogany).  Here is a link to the build.  http://www.larriveeforum.com/smf/index.php?topic=50522.0

You are going to be going right past Guitar Tex when passing through San Antonio. From I-10 East, exit Hildebrand, turn left under overpass, go a mile or so to McCullough, turn left, its right up the street on the right, just after the traffic circle. Nothing tricky about it. They are closed Sundays.
They had several nice Larrivvees last Thurs/Fri, a D-03, an OM-03 koa spice, I think they have an LV-09, and some smaller bodies, too. I think they had an 00-40. The website shows a DV-40R, I didn't notice that one when I was there.

Evans Music City seems to have scarce pickings, and Southpaws would not work for me as I'm right handed( viewing their websites) . There has to be some places

my apologies with regards to all the more "creative" ways people use capos.
and yes I concur with the whole "voicing" thing, certain groups of chords moved up the neck, for fingerpicking, or using Capos for alternate tunings.

absolutely! if we were all in agreement, we'd be pretty bored with each other.....

And yes even the very best capo's ( G7 comes to mind) pull the strings sharp, sometimes just one string, sometimes just enough to hurt sensitive ears.
Maybe these capos don't, you folks that are buying them, will let me know.
then I "might" consider a purchase....

Based on a quick look at their website (I have no experience with this store), I'd call first to see if they have any Larrivee's in stock. They only show one LV-09 (around $3K) on their webpage.

I'd also call Southpaw Guitars. They have lots of inventory, and might have a used Larrivee or two in stock (which could have been traded in on a Martin, Taylor or Gibson acoustic... just sayin').

Maybe call some Guitar Centers as well? A few phone calls can save you a lot of time, driving and aggravation/disappointment.
