Title: Great, Cheap Preamp Circuit: Online Schematic
Post by: djsonovox on June 17, 2005, 07:23:50 PM
http://www.till.com/articles/GuitarPreamp/
has a schematic & parts list for an FET Diiscrete Pre-Amp.

Field Effect Transistors are noted for their tube-like character, and pleasing overdrive entry and recovery. This means you can drive it hard and not get harsh clipping.

I built one, and it is great!Cheap, too... under $8 in parts.  Get a K & K off eBay to use with theis, and and endpin jack and battery clip/holder, and you get the best sound for the least money.

I like the variant of this driven by phantom power. Forget the battery.
