Title: 10 years with my Forum 3 RW/IS - has it really been that long?
Post by: tadol on May 17, 2019, 12:18:26 PM
Just dropped by because I realized its been 10 years since a bunch Larrivee fans ran up to Vancouver, met John, got a great tour of that facility (wish I could find my pics!) and picked up our Forum 3 guitars.  What a great trip, what an experience! And it is such a special guitar - since then I've upgraded the tuners to some very sweet Gotohs, bone nut and pins, and bought a great Larrivee arch-top case from Matthew and Jean in Ontario when I visited the shop there,  and had a super set-up done by the luthiers at Santa Cruz Guitar Co.

And after 10 years, it is still an absolute joy to pull this guitar out and play. Not sure if y'all have tried to put something together like this again, but thank you Jim Holler and all the forum guys and gals who put their efforts together, for coordinating this and making it happen way back then.

Any others from back then still have their F3s?

Tad, it was an un-forgettable trip.   I have Jim's handwritten invoice on my bulletin board.  Dated 3/19/09..   yup, it's been a little over ten years.  So nice to meet you and the others in Vancouver to pick up our guitars. I still have some pictures.     Here's Edwin getting ready to install the tuners on mine.

I've still got my F3 as well. Wouldn't part with it. The impromptu jam at Vancouver Southpaws place after we picked up our guitars is still a very fond memory
