Title: Thoughts on Lacewood, Silver Oak, as a tonewood?
Post by: Lawryvee on May 30, 2018, 09:34:11 AM
Trying to get the lay-of-the-land on experts/experiences with the various tonewood Larrivee has put forward and what excels, not do much, is worth a premium price, etc. I thank you kindly in advance for your feedback!

I have them both and Love them both.  Extraordinary tonewood that makes a musical tone when the wood is tapped...

And, it is very light in weight ... good for old fogies.

Same wood... very nice warm tone.  Between mahogany and maple in my experience. It opens up to be loud with a nice rich bass and great sparkle in the trebles.  Recommended!
