Title: Pete Seeger "Rainbow Quest"
Post by: tlp2 on January 26, 2018, 01:32:29 PM
You guys probably knew; but,
I only recently found out that Pete had a TV show in the early '60s.
Only one year and few episodes survive.
Here's Pete and Elizabeth Cotten.
Think you can fingerpick?

Also, I knew the tune for and have played Freight Train for pretty much ever,
but had no idea it had words until now.  Haha!

That was incredibly enjoyable.

That's quite a well-worn Martin D-18 she's playing - has tape under her forearm and along the lower bout of the body, plus an "enlarged" sound hole. That thing has incredible warmth and bass (you'd almost think it was a rosewood guitar).

Also - she's tuned down 3 half steps: playing in C but it's sounding in A. No wonder it sounds so warm and deep.
