Title: great songs never on the radio
Post by: Walkerman on October 07, 2016, 04:53:25 PM
Here's another "great ... " thread.  Great songs you never hear on the radio.  I will start it off with

The Fool ... Quicksilver Messenger Service.

Moosejaw town by yours truly.  Recorded a few years back.  Played on my trusty old 1982 L-07.

I like to listen to "original" music or covers by talented, yet virtually unknown, artists.  I find their songs on Itunes and YouTube and rarely ever hear one on the radio...  A good example would be Lexington Lab Band...

"What Was In That Letter" by the 77's. Actually I don't thnk I ever heard them on the radio because they were a 'Christian' band. They were signed at one time to Island Records, who had U2 and other alt rock bands in the 80's.

I think this band was one of the great rock bands of the 80s, but most people have never heard of them.

http://youtu.be/iTDJEz2c6n0. One college friend that I got hooked on this band said their sound reminded him of the Housemartins, yet another that is relatively unknown in the USA

Another band that I learned about from college friends from the UK that got nearly zero air time in the US were House of Love
