Title: How I remove a pick guard
Post by: unclrob on April 27, 2016, 12:33:10 PM
I get a lot of request on how I remove a pick guard with out damaging the top so.....

I use a hair dryer set on med.Start at the sharp corner slowly heating the guard, using your fingers start lifting the corner aiming the dryer under the guard.Take your time slowly lifting the guard up.DON"T RUSH IT,let the heat do its job it will take a while.Once the guard is removed use naptha to remove any glue left on the top.

I hope this helps.

REMEMBER this simple rule..........DON'T RUSH or FORCE IT......TAKE YOUR TIME........ :wave

+1, good advice from Rob.  SLOW is the key.  Also, I find it useful to always pull in the direction of the grain, never against it.
