Title: **TRADED** For Trade...Avalon A2-20 for a smaller bodied Larrivee
Post by: rosborn on March 13, 2016, 09:22:49 PM
**TRADED**

Throwing this feeler out there...

I recently acquired an Avalon A2-20 and am interested in trading it for a smaller bodied Larrivee - L or smaller - without electronics.

Here is a little about Avalon...  Avalon is directly related to Lowden Guitars.  In fact, George Lowden, during a dispute with a finance company that provided capital to Lowden Guitars, started Avalon with his, at the time, entire staff.  In the latter part of the early 2000's George Lowden left Avalon to begin making his own guitars.  Steve Mcllwrath, one of the founding partners with George Lowden, remained and operates Avalon today.  Avalon guitars are completely handcrafted in Newtownards, Northern Ireland.  Less than 1,000 guitars are made each year.

I have the Pioneer A2-20 which is an OM sized guitar that has an Alpine Spruce soundboard with East Indian Rosewood back and sides.  My A2-20 was made in 2014 but I acquired it in early February.  I am the first and only owner.  It sounds and plays wonderfully.  It is beautifully handcrafted and comes in a Hiscox case.

I love this guitar but I am JONESING for a Larrivee.  I am very open to a Western Red Cedar topped, or a Sitka Spruce over Mahogany, or a Sitka Spruce over East Indian Rosewood L or smaller sized guitar.  I purchased this guitar for $3150 in February and I believe it correlates nicely, price-wise, with a 05 or a 09 Larrivee.

Here are some photos:

How much would you ask for it if you were selling?
